Tim and I took a relatively relaxed 26 mile ride today, averaging 16.5 MPH. Tim was already fatigued at the start of the ride; Jason felt in good form but his erector spinae began to tighten late in the ride.

October 31, 2009
By TallRider

Habitat Halloween Century in Durham, starting at Durham Bulls stadium and heading into countryside north of Durham. Weather was comfortable, a light misting rain (with accompanying road grit) for the first ~4 hours, eventually clearing with warm and humid conditions (but dry roads) for the last ~3 hours. Tim’s bike ride 10/23/2009

October 24, 2009
By TallRider

supposed-to-be-easy 13-mile ride late Friday afternoon. I’d been planning on a longer ride tomorrow, but beautiful warm-and-breezy fall weather (and forecasts of rain tomorrow) got me to go out today as well. I’m still kinda tired, with legs sore and weak/tired (though not dead-feeling) because of the total volume of biking and lifting earlier...

Jason: Rode 32.2 miles on the bike, averaging 15.7 MPH today; about 21 miles of that was with Tim, averaging about 16.2 for that section. We took a relatively relaxed ride, more for getting some blood flowing than really pushing for anything. My left knee is still a bit sore, but it seems a...

Whitney Classic bicycling event

September 28, 2009
By TallRider

So I went to California in order to ride the Whitney Classic with my brother-in-law Graham. The event is firstly a fundraiser for Summit Adventure, the outdoor non-profit that he works for, and he did most of the fundraising for the two of us. “The Whitney” is a big deal for Summit-related folks, and...
